Abstract:Inherent limitation involved in the traditional soil sampling techniques makes it imperative to explore alternative new techniques. Georadar has already been successfully applied in research fields like geology, geophysics, archaeology, etc. Besides a brief introduction to the principle of the georadar technique, this paper emphasized achievements and prospects of its application in the study of soil science. It concluded that compared with the traditional ones, the georadar technique is faster and non-destructive. Meanwhile, the paper also reiterated the necessity to expand and improve application of the technique in soil science.
