Content of heavy metals in the soil and crops are analyzed and their pollutions are evaluated. The results indicate that the soil and crops in this village are polluted by heavy metals to a varying extent. The soil fails to meet Grade Ⅱ standard for soil environmental quality and the crops fall short of the hygienic standard for food. The main polluting factor of the soil is Cd, and of the crops are Cd and Pb. Heavy metal-containing dust from Qingshuitang Industry Zone in the neighhorhood is the most important factor that causes the soil and crops polluted in Baima Village. The pollution level of the soil and crops varies from one monitoring spot to another, which is mainly related to variation of the distance and azimuth of the monitoring spots from the pollution source and direction and strength of the wind.
