Abstract:Through pot experiment, applying different organic fertilizers in two ways, i.e., mulching on soil surface and incorporated with soil, the growth and physiological characters of rice were studied under drought stress condition. The results indicated that: (1) plant height and tillering number decreased, and root length, root surface area, root volume and rootlet number increased under drought stress; straw mulched on surface soil and pig manure mixed in soil could improve the growth and morphological property of rice root, while straw mixed in soil and pig manure mulching had no significant effects; (2) the contents of chlorophylls and the activities of SOD, POD and CAT decreased significantly under drought stress, and straw mulching on surface soil and pig manure mixed in soil could restrain these decreases.
