The severe urban soil pollution has been an important restrictive factor for urban land replacement. This paper summarized the advance in soil pollution research during urban land replacement from four aspects, such as the inner mechanism of urban soil pollution, the risk assessment and management of contaminated land, the relationship between soil pollution and land value loss, the financing mechanism of contaminated land rehabilitation. Finally, some proposes were put forward including that the field of soil pollution has been a more important task to realize the sustainable development of city, the environmental management theory and method of soil pollution lags behind the study of other environmental elements, the risk assessment and management of soil pollution has been an important decision support for soil environmental management.
