This study was conducted to compare the total contents and chemical forms of heavy metals in soils from different industries such as plastics, chemical, heat-engine plant and breeding. The results showed that soil heavy metal contents of these industries were higher than that of local background content, and some indicators exceeded the national recommended Environmental Quality Secondary Standard for Soils. The comprehensive pollution index of heavy metal for each industry showed a decreasing order as 1.74 for chemical industry, 1.40 for the heat-engine plant, 1.39 for the plastic industry and 0.82 for breeding industry. According to the grading standards of soil pollution, the plastic industry, the chemical industry and the heat- engine plant reached the light level, but breeding industry reached the alert level. This study also found that the contents of heavy metal available form had great difference among kinds of industries. Moreover, the factors affected soil heavy metals available form were not only included the total contents, pH and soil organic matter, but also included the emission characteristics of heavy metals in the discharge of pollutants and the original form from different industries.
