Abstract:DDT pesticides (DDTs) carry typical characteristics of both environment endocrine disruptors (EEDs) and persistent organic pollutants (POPs). In order to investigate the current pollution of DDTs in Dianchi Lake, 18 surface sediments samples of Waihai, Dianchi Lake were collected and analyzed by GC-ECD. The results showed that: 1) the concentration range of ∑DDTs was 0.2 – 4.9 ng/g (dry weight), p,p’-DDE and p,p’-DDD were the main components founded in the surface sediments, the average valve were 1.14 ng/g (dry weight) and 0.78 ng/g (dry weight); 2) the DDTs in the sediments might be derived from the DDT-treated soils in aged agriculture, and no new pollution sources was found; 3)The ratio of WDDD to WDDE were lower than 1 in most sites, which indicated that aerobic conditions was the primary degradation; 4) Compared with other domestic water body reported, the pollution of ∑DDTs in the surface sediments of Waihai, Dianchi Lake was relatively lower and the residual level of ∑DDTs showed that the northern region was higher than the middle and the southern region in this study area.
